Part-time school

Standard

For those parents who would like to home educate their children but perhaps do not have the time and money to do so there is the option of part-time schooling, or Flexischooling as it’s often called.

Whereas Homed Education is a statutory option for parents, flexischooling is not, and relies upon the discretion of the Head teacher. Don’t be put off though, one Head of a Bedford Middle school has indicated his support to a Forum editor. Another Head of a Primary school actually suggested it to a child’s parents. A school in Norfolk which allowed flexischooling was complimented in it’s OFSTED for doing so and contributed to a better report from Inspectors.

We would encourage parents to research Personalised Education Now, a charity supporting flexischooling.

As someone once quipped when the ‘Dept of Education’ was called the ‘Dept for Children, Schools and Families’, trust the government to put schools between children and families.
